EU Horizon Europe ESIRA Project with the University of Burgos

ESIRA
ESIRA “Promoting Social Innovation in Rural Areas” is a European project coordinated by the University of Burgos that seeks to promote development in rural areas. It is funded by the European Commission, through the Horizon Europe program, and involves fifteen partners from Spain, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, Norway and France. A practical experience will be developed in each country, with the Pinares Burgos-Soria region being the experimental pilot in Spain.

Duration
The ESIRA project will be carried out for at least 4 years.

Methodology
What sets the ESIRA project apart from other similar initiatives is its innovative methodology. A working system that involves all the actors in the rural area from the outset, and creates “Spaces of Innovation” led by the community itself, to carry out a self-diagnosis of the community, as well as to identify social economy initiatives, opportunities for economic entrepreneurship, cultural action, social revitalization, territorial cohesion, improvement of the service offering, management of endogenous resources, digitalization, educational proposals, dynamics for young people, female protagonism, green transition, etc.
