Ribering: social innovation for the Nature-based Economy

On December 26, 2022, we launched Ribering, a social innovation ecosystem in Aranda de Duero, the heart of the Ribera del Duero region in Spain, consisting of a coworking space (shared office for collaborative entrepreneurs), several coliving options (shared accommodation for digital nomads), and a pioneering incubator of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS). But above all, Ribering we are a community of practice that seeks to contribute to a positive transformation of our own little world (Ribera del Duero), promoting social innovation and collaboration for the common good around an inspiring space, and sharing best practices with other regions and like-minded initiatives to jointly scale up impact.

Here, we host and facilitate impactful events and activities about open innovation, business incubation, education, culture, well-being or health; in the form of workshops, talks, panels, debates, forums, training, team building, co-creation, hackathons, incubation and acceleration, networking, cultural activities, etc. 

For NBSCLIMATE, ourselves a social business registered in Aranda de Duero, Ribering is our headquarters, Nature-based Economy Hub and NbS Living Lab. This is where we bring home all we’ve learned around the world, where we join forces with all our allies and key local stakeholders, get our hands dirty, and embody the change we want to see in the world. And so we’re leveraging this vantage point and collaborative community to build climate resilience and social equity, to boost rural development, creating meaningful opportunities for the youth to stay or return, connecting with the wise elder along the process. We’ll rewild urban areas, foster regenerative agriculture and viticulture, restore degrades ecosystems, and much more.
