Abdel Rahman El-Mahdi
Abdel Rahman has over 25 years of experience in international development with thematic/technical expertise covering Biodiversity/Marine Conservation and Climate Change, Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation, and Civil Society Strengthening. Core competencies include Organizational Development, Programme/Project Planning, Implementation and Management; Research, Monitoring & Evaluation/Learning; and Capacity Development, Training and Facilitation. El-Mahdi has served in multiple senior positions and consultancies with national and international organisations in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. He has experience managing complex projects and delivering services in challenging environments often characterised by conflict and political instability. He holds leadership/membership with several international/regional networks that include the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the African Democracy Forum (ADF), and is a Fellow of the Drapers Hill program on Democracy Development and Rule of Law at Stanford University Freedman Spoogli Institute for International Studies.
