On April 10th at the European Comission Representation Office in Barcelona, the Spanish EU Climate Pact ambassadors we’ll gather to present and share books we’ve authored, co-authored or contributed to that provide tools, insights and illustrative examples of transformative climate action led by citizens, businesses, cities and regions around the world.
NBSCLIMATE’s founder -Jesus Iglesias- will present “El Futuro es Local“, the Spanish version by Pol·len edicions sccl of “Local is our Future”, by Helena Norberg-Hodge from Local Futures, a book on economic localization, or in other words how to strenthen local economies, building ecological resilience, social equity and sovereignty (food, energy…), all while drastically reducing carbon emissions, enhancing biodiversity and agrobiodiversity, preserving local cultures and, above all, nurturing the sense of community at the human scale. Jesus translated the book into Spanish and wrote the preface for Spain with illustrative examples of localization initiatives across the country.
